What is the basic principle of a Roots Blower?

The working principle of Roots blower is based on the positive displacement principle, through the relative movement of two vane rotors to compress and transport gas. When the two rotors rotate in the cylinder, the space between the rotors changes, resulting in an intake and exhaust process. Specifically, when the two rotors turn inward, the space between them increases, creating negative pressure that draws gas into the cylinder. As the rotor continues to rotate, the gas is brought into the sealed cavity of the rotor, at which time the space is reduced and the gas is compressed. When the rotor is turned to the exhaust port, the compressed gas is expelled from the machine. Since the rotor will complete two suction and two exhaust processes per revolution, the airflow generated by the Roots blower is relatively constant.
